A historically significant release in the Lithuanian metal scene – a mini-LP by the band TRYLIKA. Back in the bleak Soviet era, legends already surrounded them: an impressive photo of vocalist Artūras “Ačkazaura” Gumbrevičius in a newspaper and the track “Mes – Dievai” heard on the radio were etched into many people’s memories.
In those days, obtaining their recordings was nearly impossible because they simply didn’t exist, and the secrecy shrouded the band in even more mystery. They played heavier than “Katedra,” and rumors about their concerts circulated among metalheads, making TRYLIKA a true cult band.
Although the band broke up at the end of 1989, their music does not die. In 2011, guitarist and songwriter Arijus Skorupskis self-released a CD-R with three 1988 songs recorded at a rehearsal studio with colleagues “Rokai”. In 2024, this release ended up at “Ragainė” once again.
It was this very recording that paved the way for an international release:
-
Summer 2025: The recording is taken to Stockholm and handed over to archivist Dan Edman (“The Corroseum”).
-
Interest in the USA: Impressed by the authentic 80s sound, Dan passed the recording to Yosuke from the cult US label “Nuclear War Now! Productions”.
-
Release: Upon hearing TRYLIKA, Yosuke immediately decided that such a metal gem had to be released on vinyl. The circle was completed on December 31, 2025, when the release saw the light of day.
In this release, you will find:
-
3 cult songs: “Tikėk”, “Tavo Meilė Sau”, and the metal anthem “Mes – Dievai”.
-
Authentic sound: Songs recorded off-the-cuff in a single take 38 years ago have aged like fine whiskey and, in 2026, cut straight to the heart.
-
Detailed interview: On Side B of the record – an interview with Arijus Skorupskis about the band’s short but vibrant history.
