“Whistles” is a special new edition (the 7th so far!) of the famous deep ambient album by DONATAS BIELKAUSKAS, who performed this music with authentic clay whistles made by genuine Lituanian sculptor Antanas Mončys (1921-1993). Mončys made his clay whistles in the period of 1975-1978, and this edition of “Whistles” was dedicated in 2021 to the 100th anniversary of his birth.
The music is delicate and profound, presenting a depth enshrouded by ambience. A select few instruments are skillfully used to accent the unique natural sounds of the clay flutes. The meditative atmosphere gently conveys the listener to an arcane, primeval world, reminiscent of the early Wejdas records.
For best results, listen at a low volume.
White vinyl long-play (LP), beautifully designed. Features a reverse-side printed cardboard sleeve and a printed paper inner sleeve.
